Why Study at CSU
Our graduates get jobs
Charles Sturt University prides itself on providing practical, hands-on courses that ensure graduates have the best chance at employment opportunities. Many courses offer access to practicum opportunities from the first year of study, ensuring students are equipped to tackle real life situations and are building relationships with prospective employers right from the start.
For example, students in our Bachelor of Primary Education Studies program undertake their in-school experiences and practicums in local schools (Halton, Hamilton – Wentworth, Dufferin – Peel, Peel, Upper Grand). This close relationship reflects one of the main intentions of the program – to promote and foster an innovative link between the University and school-based stakeholders.
Many of our courses have 100 percent employment, with students working in their chosen industry before they graduate. An independent survey shows that our students rate us highly in relation to graduate employment outcomes.
It’s academic
Charles Sturt University is dedicated to excellence in the delivery of higher education and has a well-earned reputation for providing exceptional education delivered by dedicated professionals with practical and relevant industry experience. Our academics are supported by well-researched curriculum and teaching methodologies that maintain high levels of satisfaction among graduates, employers and the University’s partners
Partnerships
Charles Sturt University values the strong links it has with partner institutions, particularly in the provision of pathways to study. A fine example of that is our partnership with institutions like McMaster University and the Mohawk and Sheridan Community Colleges.
We also work closely with industry to ensure our courses are relevant and incorporate the skills and knowledge that employers require. Often these relationships with industry partners lead to graduate opportunities.
Learning unlimited
We are committed to the flexible delivery of learning and teaching, using technology to allow flexibility and responsiveness to student needs. Our online scholarly environment, CSU Interact, provides access to learning and research resources and opportunities to collaborate and communicate online via online forums and wikis.
Facilities on our Ontario Campus include lecture and tutorial rooms with the latest IT/AV technology, a resource and technology centre, student common rooms, offices and small conference rooms, parking, and a state-of-the-art wireless network that services both students and staff.
Not just one of the crowd
Unlike some larger universities, Charles Sturt University doesn’t lose track of the individual. With students from across Australia and around the world, our size allows for diversity in our facilities and courses, however it is our sense of community that sets us apart. Wherever you choose to study, you will quickly become part of the Charles Sturt family.
